Het onderzoek is gedaan onder vastgoedbedrijven en gebruikers van kantoren. Dit meldde de Daily Telegraph (Graham Ruddick) onlangs. 88% van de ondervraagde Britse bedrijven geeft aan dat de mate van duurzaamheid van een gebouw een belangrijke rol gaat spelen bij een volgende verhuizing. COMMERCIAL PROPERTY: Energy clampdown ‘threat to UK offices’ The Daily Telegraph (Graham Ruddick) reports that a survey by the British Council of Offices found that property companies and office occupiers believe environmental legislation will be the second most important factor influencing office developments over the next two decades, second only to funding. The survey found that 88% of businesses believe the environmental performance of a building will be an important factor in their next office move. The BCO warned in its ‘Challenges for the Office Sector’ report that the majority of UK commercial property would need to undergo energy refurbishment in the next 40 years in order for A and A+ rated premises to become the norm, as required by 2050. The BCO, which compiled the report alongside the Investment Property Forum, warned that the cost of refurbishment could make over 60% of premises in London obsolete. |
